Touch of Love Joins the Celebrate Aberdeen Parade 2025
On Saturday, 23rd August 2025, the streets of Aberdeen came alive with colour, sound, and celebration, and Touch of Love was right at the heart of it.

Our team of ethnic minority parents, volunteers, and Young Achievers proudly joined hundreds of others for the Celebrate Aberdeen Parade, walking shoulder to shoulder with incredible third-sector organisations who make this city a better place to live.

A Day to Be Seen and Heard
Union Street was lined with cheers, music, and flags as groups from all over the city marched together, each with its own story, culture, and purpose. For our young people and families, it was more than a parade. It was a moment to step forward, feel welcomed, and take pride in the community they’re growing up in.

They saw what solidarity looks like. They felt what it means to be part of something shared.

Celebrating Community and Culture
Celebrate Aberdeen is known for spotlighting the heartbeat of the city, the local charities, social enterprises, and grassroots organisations that work quietly and consistently to serve others.

For many of our families, especially those who are new to Scotland, this event was a valuable way to learn about the wider community they are now part of. They got to see the range of support available through third-sector groups, meet people doing similar work, and discover organisations that can offer help, connection, and belonging.

This kind of awareness is essential. When migrant families know what services exist and where to turn, it helps ease the uncertainty that often comes with resettlement. It builds confidence, encourages integration, and turns new surroundings into something that feels like home.

Thank You for Walking With Us
To everyone who marched with us, waved from the sidewalks, or simply smiled as we passed, thank you. Your encouragement made every step brighter.

Events like Celebrate Aberdeen remind us of the good that happens when communities come together with open hearts. We’re proud to be part of Aberdeen’s third-sector family and grateful for every chance to connect, share, and grow alongside others.

Looking Ahead with Hope
At Touch of Love, our mission continues: to build bridges, create safe spaces, and support young people and families as they discover their place in a new world.

This parade was a beautiful reminder of why that work matters, and how much stronger we are when we walk forward together.

💜 Here's to community. Here's to connection. Here's to the journey ahead.
